The Cardiff Homelessness Alliance was formed in 2013 following a networking event in the City Hall to cement and build upon the working relationships between services working with homelessness and vulnerable people in the City. The aim is to work together to make sure that safe, quality services are provided to those in need.
The Alliance will form part of the Vulnerable Persons Steering Group and, in turn, feed into the Multi-Agency Homelessness Strategy in Cardiff.
There is recognition that each sector has a vital role to play in making sure that we can successfully engage with often hard to reach service users; encouraging and supporting people to access appropriate service provision that can help them to improve their lives.
The Alliance will seek a collaborative approach to providing holistic services from making contact with rough sleepers and vulnerably housed people to addressing accommodation needs and accessing other complementary support services.
The Alliance will develop training initiatives and resources to embed best practice across services.
The Alliance will participate in and instigate research/discussion on both service improvements and dealing with the challenge of reduced resources.
The Alliance will exist as a collective of agencies, meeting at least quarterly, with an elected Chair and Vice Chair. It will not manage funds directly but seek to influence the allocation of all available funding.
All organisations will be asked to sign up to a partnership agreement, setting out a commitment to working constructively with all relevant agencies, to develop and deliver services.
